The IEEF Edition is the first installment of the Science Hub initiative, designed as a response to a specific need identified by an external entity.

The Institute of Economic and Financial Expertise in Łódź (IEEF) is a budgetary unit established pursuant to an ordinance of the Minister of Justice dated 11 July 2018, which commenced its operations on 1 January 2019. The IEEF conducts scientific and research-and-development activities in the following fields:

● economics,

● finance,

● accounting,

● taxes and customs,

● capital markets,

● banking and insurance,

● business operations and financing,

● ownership transformations,

● economic cybercrime.

The Institute prepares expert reports and issues opinions commissioned by courts, public prosecutors’ offices, and other entities authorized to conduct proceedings in which expert evidence is admissible.

The objective of this edition is to develop for the IEEF a functional solution — a tool for visualizing financial flows based on account transaction history provided in a flat file (CSV). Detailed information about the challenge can be found in the COMPETITION tab.

We invite teams consisting of one to three students (first- or second-cycle degree programmes at the University of Łódź) and one supervisor (an academic staff member employed at the University of Łódź).

Qualification for the competition offers a range of benefits for both students and academic supervisors.
