ABOUT THE COMPETITION

The project implemented as part of Science Hub UniLodz – IEEF Edition has an educational and research-oriented character. Its objective is for the selected team to develop a functional solution, i.e. a tool for visualizing financial flows based on account transaction history provided in a flat file (CSV).

Challenge details:

The input data, in tabular form, will include, among others: the transaction amount, transaction date, recipient (name or unique identifier), and transfer sender (name or unique identifier).

The output of the program should be a graphic (vector-based or in high resolution) presenting a selected diagram of financial flows. The tool should allow the analysis to be narrowed to a group of selected entities or a specified time range.

The tool should take the form of a script written in a high-level programming language (Python or R) and use only free modules and libraries. The script should include comments or brief documentation so that users with minimal programming knowledge are able to modify input parameters (path to input and output files, column names in the input file, scope of analysis, selected graphic parameters).
